If you want a quality work experience that will focus your career goals and increase your skill set, and you are a multi-talented self-starter looking to support the senior management of an independent record label, then Utopia Records offers you an extraordinary opportunity.

What to expect as a Utopia Records Intern?
The Utopia Records Internship Program is designed to provide music industry students with the opportunity to observe, work and gain experience within the inner-workings of the record industry.

Carefully selected participants will gain an in-depth knowledge of the responsibilities and duties involved in the successful operation of a Record Label by performing actual record company tasks. Through observation, enthusiasm, creative input, participation and evaluation the Utopia Records intern will develop a hands-on understanding of a wide variety of music professions such as promotion, marketing & publicity, artist development, radio and retail promotion, among other things.

The Utopia Records Unity Internship Program was created and designed for brilliant, aspiring and artistic minds. Our program will provide “real life” experience and help to create the music industry leaders of tomorrow!

Unity Internship Areas



  • Promotion/Marketing/Publicity Internship
    Keeps artist name in the public through press releases, print ads, and media exposure. While the priority is being outgoing and personable, responsibilities will also include creating and implementing publicity for Utopia Records and its Artists. The Promotion/Marketing/Publicity department's primary goal is to establish closer contact with and to become aware of Industry publications, Industry Trade Magazines, Industry Websites and events related to genre specific-promotional programs may involve direct mail, e-mail, visiting, calling commercial, non commercial, internet and college radio stations. Promotional incentives may include Internet advertisements, Web sites, Artists product endorsements and giveaways. This is to create incentives to increase awareness.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Radio Promotion Internship
    The department's primary goal is to establish closer contact with Program Directors, Music Directors, Station Owners, or listeners-promotional programs. This person develops strategic Radio sales plans and goals, studies and creates radio market and promotional campaigns.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Retail Promotion Internship
    The department's primary goal is to establish closer contact with Store Owners and consumers alike. Retail incentives may include Internet advertisements for merchandise, Web sites, Artists product endorsements and give-aways. This person develops strategic Retail sales plans and goals, studies and creates retail market and promotional campaigns.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Webmaster/Graphic Artists Internship
    Designs Internet sites that accurately reflect Utopia Records goals, objectives and Artists. Provides strategic direction and concept development for online projects, including web graphics and banner ads from concept to implementation using designer software. Electronically designs and produces printed materials in preparation for Utopia Records releases of publications, including articles, newsletters, brochures, creating and confirming CD artwork, banners, ads, graphics, illustrations and marketing plans designed to increase public awareness.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Production Internship
    Responsible for submitting new material, completing a record on time, overseeing the entire recording project including timeframe and budget, organize the daily recording schedule and may hire musicians
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • A&R Internship
    Responsible for identifying potential talent, assisting with the artistic and commercial development of Utopia Records Artists while staying current with today's Music.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


  • Assistant Internship
    Responsible for a multitude of daily office tasks including but not limited to e-mails, answering phones, faxing, mailings, and other miscellaneous responsibilities. Entry-level position. Prior knowledge of the music industry is not required. However, candidate must be energetic, hard working and willing to learn.
    *Must be at least 16 years of age.


    All internships are unpaid with the possibility of future employment.
